Rockport High School.
1920 Series Of Rockport Graduates of 1926.
Time May Be Immortal-Classmates are not!
There were 3 Rockport High School Graduates in 1926.

Bert Bennett
Lillian Graves
Helen Park

This 1926 Rockport High School Class was the first class to graduate, as four year seniors, from Rockport. The Bluff Street School was built in 1908 and continued as a "Two Year High School" until 1925. In 1925 a four year high school was established and in 1926, three senior received their "Four Year", High school diplomas. I am sure that it was a joyous time in Rockport. The three seniors went on to become knowledgeable citizens. A trend had started.

The three graduates of 1926 were Bert Bennett, Lillian Graves and Helen Park. As graduates in 1926, that placed their birthdates in the 1908 time frame. These students would probably be Centenarians today. Of the three, I only knew one of the group. Helen Park continued to live and work in the Rockport area after graduation. I have heard of Bert Bennett and Lillian Graves, but I am not sure that I have enough information to make any comments on these two.

Just a few years after graduation, Helen Park became the Postmistress of the Rockport Post Office in 1928 and continued until 1933. The post office appointments were highly political in those days and I don't know if Helen quit to chase further endeavors or was replaced due to political party changes. I can remember Helen as a clerk for Jamie. She was a very devout member of the Rockport Methodist Church. If the Church was open, Helen was being a part of the events. She was just a quiet woman that was nice to all.

As you can see, my knowledge of this first graduating class, is very limited. Rather than to not include this class, I opted to include what I know and allow others to fill in the blanks. I do not have any pictures of this class to post, but have left room if and when I receive any more information. Please feel free to share any pictures or information that you have of this group. Any information can be added, as presented, and credit can be given to the sender, or I will omit the name/names of donor if desired. Thanks for looking and advance thanks for any material that you care to send.
