L. H.
Harper graduated from Rockport in 1952. Betty Barnard graduated
from Rockport High School in 1954. They married each other in
1957 and this year, they will be celebrating their Fiftieth
Wedding Anniversary. They live in the Billy Burden Subdivision in
Echols and have two children. Those two children have given them
three grandchildren.
The following write-up on the military service life of L. H. was
taken from the Pond Run Baptist Church's booklet, "Our Heroes
Forever", compiled by Shirley Fulkerson Barnes and Delona Smiley
Fulkerson. The actual production date of the pamphlet is unknown
to me, but would guess it to be in the time frame of 2002. Thanks
you two.

In November, 1959 he was sent to Fort George Meade in Maryland
where he was discharged from active duty in April, 1960 as a
SP-4. Effective date of Honorable discharge from Army reserve was
March 31, 1964.
